Text Box: Derby entries will be taken Tuesday-Thursday and the cost of entry is $10. We will be offering the following conformation related classes: Best Color, Best Eyes, Best Ears, Best Tail, Best Movement, Best Male, Best Female, and the following whimsical classes: Best Senior Handler (50+), Best Shibaholic Handler, Shiba Shakes and Shenanigans, and Ringwise Pranksters. As each class enters the ring, exhibitors will be given the opportunity to “pick their pony” by sponsoring the class entrants. After the judge places the class, 75% of the entry fees for the given class will be provided to the first place winner. Ringside sponsors selecting the winning entrant will split 75% of the ringside sponsorships for that class. All first place winners will compete for Derby Winner. Ringside spectators will be given another chance to sponsor one of the entrants in the Derby Winner Class. The Derby winner will receive the remaining 25% of the entry fees from all classes. Those spectators selecting the Derby Winning Shiba will split the remaining 25% sponsorships for all classes and 100% of the sponsorships collected during the final Derby Class. Shibas may be entered in multiple classes. Placing lower than first in one class does not disqualify entry in another class. Ringside mentoring will be offered at the 2011 National and Parent Specialties

To support those judges willing to attend our National Specialty to learn about the Shiba we offer the Shiba Derby.  These judges will be given a unique hands-on opportunity to judge our breed!

 

Judges Education

The NSCA approved Judges Breed Education Seminar is offered Thursday, November 17, 2011 2:00 p.m. at the Show Site.  Special opportunities for enrichment and hands-on judging will be offered on Thursday evening as part of our special attraction activities. Please contact presenter Chris Levy at chris@abiquadogs.com . There will be a $10 charge for materials. NSCA members will not be in attendance, unless invited by the presenter.
